Massaman
CURRY PASTE

Roasted aromatics and heaps of toasted warm spices like cinnamon, mace, & cumin make Massaman paste naturally sweet, smoky & complex.

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 5 oz. pouch Little Trúc Massaman Curry Paste

  • 1.5 cups coconut milk (preferably boxed)

  • 3 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 lb. beef, sliced into 1” pieces

  • 3 tbsp fish sauce

  • 4 tbsp palm or light brown sugar

  • 4 tbsp tamarind paste (optional)

  • 2 medium yukon gold potatoes, peeled & cut into large chunks

  • roasted peanuts for garnish (chopped) 

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine coconut oil & 1/2 cup coconut milk. Bring to a simmer & cook until slightly thickened (1-2 min).

  2. Add entire contents of massaman curry paste, stir well to combine, & cook 5-6 minutes or until oil begins to separate from paste. 

  3. Pour in remaining 1 cup coconut milk & add beef, potatoes & 2 cups water. Season w/ fish sauce, palm sugar & tamarind paste. Bring to a simmer & cook until beef & potatoes are tender & curry has reduced to a gravy-like consistency (~30 min).

  4. Serve w/ jasmine rice & garnish w/ peanuts
